Issai (Actinidia arguta) is the most unique kiwi in many ways: It's the only self-fertile variety, so you only need one plant and you'll be on your way to snacking on the fresh, bite-sized fruit once it matures. Another unique aspect of the Issai is its smooth skin that's free of fuzz. Unlike other kiwi cultivars, the Issai stays small enough that it can grow in limited space or even in a container.
